Five Thoughts for You : What World Demands?

What world wants

What World Demands?

5 . Gold vs Steel

So called precious metals Gold contribute more to the greed and imaginary pride than being an utility metal like iron or aluminum. Availability may vary, but that does not explain much about the basic logic of valuing some metal. For example, say we have the last 10 grams of Gold and 10 Kg of Steel, no further quantity available. Which one do you value more? If I am there, I will value Steel More than Gold, which may be useful for us than that 10 grams of gold. Now this happens in the reverse 10 grams of gold costs more than 10 kg of steel!, most of the metals which are high utility for us are valued cheaper than the Gold! Steel helps us in building strong shelters the basic need of human, where gold just creates greed and selfishness in the form of ornaments.

4 . Supply – Demand Logic Flawed

One can give a supply demand logic as an explanation! But the fundamental flaw itself lies on what is our demand and why we demand something? Are we demanding for the necessities more or the prouder to show off? It may be a personal choice of decision for many. As individuals earn more they may spend more on what they wish for, their freedom I agree! They may be correct in their perspective, but individuals make family, families make society. So the link is always there between a rich man in India and a Poor starving family in Africa. A poor Chinese farmer is connected with some monopolistic business giant in the United States.

3 . Neither Communism nor Spiritual Lecture

This is neither communism nor a spiritual lecture , but an attempt to expose the flaw in our system. That is made when we created demands and markets around it. When the demands of the society go to the right needs then there will be a sustainability of the economy as well as lifestyle. Almost everyone will have their basic needs like food, shelter and education fulfilled. There will be a possible equality too. But just look at our demands, most of the world craves for imaginary wealth acquisition, even lands are imaginary wealth. Thinking me a fool? Well ask Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan, their kingdoms are no more and they could not take a pinch of land with them. The only legacy is left behind! Even that legacy is built on an imaginary demand, which even the Alexander admitted before his death. But we are fighting over demands with advanced weaponries and far intelligent brains at work. The roots of err goes back to the dates when we invented paper money! (Will detail this later in a separate article)

2 . Boundary of our Selfishness

We are seeing through the spectacles of our own life and define our lives within our circle of people from whom we gain or loss directly, we hardly see beyond them or whom they are connected with. The Chain of wealth acquisition will connect everyone one of us to someone who is being exploited in the other end of the world. But the sad truth is we are having no control over this process, even if we are aware of it. We traveled a lot of distance on wrong roads, we cannot go back but we can make new routes from now. Though our visions are mostly blurred for an ideal future.

1 . A Picture of the Future

The world has enough knowledge and enough money (wealth) to prevent people dying like pity worms out of poverty, we can provide a great education to every kid in every country, we can change the fate of people killing one another by humanitarian measures and procedures. BUT WE WILL NOT DO IT. Because of our selfish demands to pride, greed and imaginary obsessions over things which do not deserve it.  WE WILL DO IT, only in a far far distant future where when we throw away all the countries, borders, religions, races and get unified as one global community of humans who appreciate all living beings and live in harmony. Not miles, light years to go! 🙂
